ALIVE

Now before the sun I wake
And find myself alone
Where within my soul does quake
And tries to call me home
Long before the broken day
I hold myself inside
Now before this world I wake
And know what I must find
A sacred place inside
To feel myself alive

On and on I catch a breath
And clasp my life in bone
Here in this cacoon I dress
With all I’ve never shown
Long before the broken day
I hold myself inside
Now before this world I wake
And know what I must find
A sacred place inside
To feel myself alive

And I will stand where you uncover me
So you can hold me to the light
And I show you all this comes to be
To burn or to bear in time

Here before the crows I shake
In towers all my own
The land beneath is yours to take
The master let it go
Long before this broken day
I held myself inside
Now before this world I wait
To see what they will find
In this sacred place inside
That now becomes alive

And I will stand where you uncover me
So you can hold me to the light
And I'll show you all that comes to be
To burn or to bear in time

And I would give you every part of me
So you can hold me to the light
And I will show you all that comes to be
To burn or to bear in time

Show you every part of me, oh light

Give you all.
